every year we head down to river street, find a spot along the savannah river, set up chairs, munch on snacks, watch the people and the boaters, welcome the night, and impatiently wait for the fireworks to begin.
this year will be no different.
except.
it will be just hoosier man and i.
no georgia boys. they're in ecuador.
no girls. one in mississippi. one in alaska. along with their families.
but still we will celebrate freedom.
we will spend the day at ft. stewart serving grilled chicken and smoked brats to thousands (yep! thousands!) of soldiers and their families. we are choosing to spend our day serving those who are the very reason we have are able to celebrate. it'll be hot. but it'll be grand.
and then we'll eat some dinner.
and make our way down to river street. find a spot to sit. set up the camera. watch the people and the boaters. and wait impatiently for the fireworks.
and i'll miss my kids and my grandkids. but remember we celebrate freedom.
