a week in the life l 2012

next week. monday. begins week in the life; this is a project that ali edwards has made come alive for so many. i have done one other complete week in the life back in march 2011 on my own. next week isn't the greatest week for a week in the life but i'm going to tackle it anyway. i will be gone for several of the days on a spiritual retreat, away from hoosier man and the georgia boys so i'm hoping hoosier man will pull photo duty for me, and journal what has happened while i'm gone.

my approach for the week: i am considering one of two template packs for this project. both are by ali edwards @ designer digitals where she exclusively creates digital projects. love all of her work.

this is ali's 2012 week in the life album template pack. i love the large photo on one side but i'm not as thrilled with the other side offerings.

i love everything about her 2011 templates for week in the life album but i really like 2012's large photo better. what i might do is combine the two: use the large photo from her 2012 templates and the templates for the other side of the page from her 2011 template pack.

i'm hoping to take enough photos and have enough individual stories to tell to use this template for those individual stories worthy of more journal; also by ali as an insert page.

i won't do a separate album but probably a title page; that, and the remaining pages will be inserted into another album. i'm considering one album for all my week in the life pages; just like i have one album for my december daily pages; whenever i complete a week i'll just insert another 7-days worth of pages.

a week in the life

 
a typical day, monday except Ashley and the boys are here so it makes the day not so typical. the boys headed out for a run and i caught them coming back in while i was enjoying my first cup of coffee and enjoying the slightly cooler temps while reading. because the temp was down a bit the boys headed out to mow some yards; just four now. ash and I and the boys ran some errands and enjoyed a lunch at sticky fingers. ash picked up some spray paint to hopefully finish her art work for her bedroom wall. it's going to be lovely. the boys ate well today. this is a day by day sort of thing. i love how ash interacts with her younger brothers. she has no qualms about using them as a pillow. they have a great relationship. i received an encouraging phone call and we received some very amazing emails of encouragement for a situation that is happening around here that hopefully will be resolved in our favor. i saw many sweet things while trying to capture the day.

it's time! i've been taking hoards of pictures and i'll be documenting our days to put together another week in our life. the week should be fun with some stressful times thrown in i'm sure. ash and the boys are still here so we have that added bonus and it is they boys' birthday also.

I've already done a Week in the Life this year that began here. So excited to do another one. This one will cover a great week - the boy's birthday week so excited about that. I have a pre-made digital set already that I'm planning on using so I'll just have to drop in the pictures and journal the day and I'm set. I also plan on creating an album with this one (maybe even the previous one too.) A mini-album would be great but I really like the idea of something more substantial.

This type of scrapbooking gets into the down and 'dirty' of our life in the day to day. Can't wait!

Another full day on Tuesday. Jeff has an early morning on Tuesday's with bible study. The boys and I wake about 7am (I sometimes wake earlier without the alarm). Coffee is ready by 7 since Jeff makes it and sets the timer so it is ready when I get up. We begin school around 8am with bible study. We have begun the book of Daniel. The boys are engrossed in the lessons. Busy, busy morning with lessons but still we finished by 10:30. Lunch was around 11:30 and I decided to go swimming before my grocery shopping since I'd be on post. I gave the boy's the option to go swimming if they finished up their individual work for school - they didn't unfortunately so I went by myself. I swam 1 mile. But today I swam 1/2 mile straight before resting for a minute then I continued on. It was a hard swim and I felt amazing!. Groceries were for the next week or so of meals. I planned the meals in my head today as I shopped although I usually write them down. We had tacos for dinner. The boys prepare our taco dinner's now. All I do is cook them. After dinner Jeff and I walked 2 miles. Our evening finished off with NCIS - hey! it is Tuesday!
