Last week the boys put together the dinner menu they wanted for the week (it was a Cub Scouts assignment to help earn their Fitness Activity Pin). It made easy work for me. I knew what we were having each day. We did very good with it and followed through on six of seven days. The boys liked it so much they jumped on board with me to set this weeks menu: Sloppy Joes with PW's Onion Strings, Grilled Chicken Salad (this salad sounds healthy, but it really isn't; we top it with fresh bacon pieces, hard-boiled eggs, onions, and our favorite dressing (which of course is not and I mean NOT! fat free), Homemade Chili (with Fritos, of course, and shredded cheese, and sour cream, and chopped raw onions - is there any other way to eat it? You wouldn't ask me to eat it with, say, rice would you - nothing so prozaic as rice!!! Heaven forbid!), Tacos (ah - duh!!!) with Jalapeno Poppers, 3 Pepper Pie (this is actually a 9x13 pan (don't let the word pie fool you) of smoked sausage, peppers and onions in a 'bowl' of hot roll dough and topped - did I say topped? - I meant smothered - with mozzarella cheese).
So I'm off today to do the grocery shopping for this menu-extraordinaire.
