A wonderful way to begin a new year with a new year of giving to others through service and financial means. Last year I attempted 52 weeks of giving and while life derailed weeks here and there I can honestly say it was a fruitful year of giving to others. This idea of purposeful giving - yet, at the same time - allowing the Holy Spirit to provide the leading and God to provide the finances and the strength to serve, one cannot walk away unchanged.
If you've followed me long enough you've heard me say, "I haven't always been a giver." In fact, selfishness rears it's ugly head none to often in the past.
And, unfortunately, all to often in the present.
But, God has shown me and grown me through the spirit of giving and He is changing me every day.
So, as I begin another year of giving I begin with a ministry dear to my heart, The Sunshine Girls. It isn't me walking in to those clubs and speaking love into the girls, one on one. But, it is me showing them love through food. Preparing a main dish or a dessert for The Sunshine Girls is - well - my sweet spot. I am so honored to serve along side these ladies.
