I'm joining Modern Mrs Darcy and many others across the internet who are documenting what is saving my life right now. It is different for everyone but this time of year seems to invoke the necessity to take stock of the good things amidst the dreary and hard, to push out the gloom and the winter blues and acknowledge what is saving our lives right now.
Whether it is my body's crazy temperature gage or we're keeping the house temperature a bit to cold (the latter is probably the case) I am so thankful for the throw blankets scattered everywhere on every piece of settee around the living room. The weight of the blankets and their warmth are saving my life right now. There is something about weighted blankets that bring me comfort and, heal.
The ladies in my book club feel the same way: once a month we gather and talk everything books, in particular one book but inevitably other books, too. It is saving my life right now, my once a month book club meeting in my house where 9-12 women gather and talk books. It is non-negotiable.
My rheumatoid arthritis has been flaring up lately and steaming hot showers in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening have been saving my life right now. The aches don't necessarily wash away with the water down the drain but the blistering water along with Eucalyptus Spearmint body wash by Bath and Body Works sooths and relaxes my aching body just enough for relief and saves my life.
Can one have too many pairs of pajamas? Real pajamas? The answer is a resounding no! I have a drawer full and I rotate them regularly. And, they're saving my life right now. When I come home from work I want to do nothing better than to put on a pair of pajamas and snuggle in for the afternoon and evening.
Know what else is saving my life right now? Monthly meal planning. For a good long season I planned my meals weekly. I'd gotten out of the habit of monthly meal planning and I didn't realize how life saving planning our meals monthly were until I didn't do them anymore. I've been planning our meals monthly for several months now and I'm loving it!
