Digitally, I used a Cathy Zielske Design layered template for this page plus pieces of one of Ali Edwards Story kits (can't for the life of me remember which one). But, I love that brushed circle stamped in white. I modified a journal cards' colors, added journaling and called it good. I am a firm believer in templates, to not reinvent the wheel. It's similar to scraplifting someone else's scrapbook page. Who, looking at your albums in the future, will ever know you was inspired by someone else's design. I invariably, when I scraplift, make the page my own, anyways. But, for this one I didn't even modify the title of the page.
Athena's latest forage for a sleeping space, because that's what she does most of the day, led her to the extra large pillows stashed under the sofa table up against the large pan picture window facing west that receives the warmth of the afternoon sun, or at least the sun beams peaking through the opened curtains. Without a doubt, Athena has become a part of our family. We have regular conversations with her, and just as each of us greets each other when we come home, Athena greets us at the door, even, waking from her nap, doing the Athena stretch, and rushes to us for some loving, or at least to let us know it's time for her food. Even if it isn't really time for her food she thinks it is and meows her way into our graces.
While I say she is our sunshine, I mean she has brought so much light into our lives. We didn't know we were missing something until it was there - in Athena. She's family. Like one watches a baby sleep, we are forever watching her sleep and get a kick out of the many - and I mean - MANY different positions we find Athena sprawling at any given moment. Recently, we made the hard decision to close our bedroom door at night from Sunday through Thursday night because she was seriously disturbing our sleep and we were just plain exhausted. We were losing valuable sleep of what little we get on any given night.
On weekends she's back in our room overnight. Usually walking down my stomach and curling up into my lap, or she'll sleep above Jeff's head on a pillow tucked between the mattress and the headboard.
