Without a doubt I would forget cool things like this if I didn't document it. Jeff has an affinity for the big container ships ever since he began working down on the Savannah River at the Riverworks job site with his company. He is forever sending me pictures of big and pretty darn cool container ships stacked full with pretty colorful containers.
Today, the Port of Savannah welcomed the CMA CGM Brazil. It will be the largest ship to ever call on the East Coast. To reference, Jeff's Riverworks job is that 'tiny' white building under construction at the Brazil's stern. She got underway from Norfolk, VA and was at Tybee at 06:30 today and passed under the Talmadge Bridge around 09:30 am. It will take her about 4+ hours transit time before she docks at Georgia Ports Authority, Garden City Terminal. She is carrying 15,000+ containers on board. September 18, 2020.
