I have mentioned before at the beginning of this project, actually the beginning of my #100dayproject 2020, that the inspiration for the project came almost exclusively from Ali Edwards. While Ali is my hero of scrapbooking she is so much more gifted then just a scrapbooking. Telling stories is her gift, but how she encourages others to tell their stories - and the ways to tell our stories.
I recently watch a Story Chat video where it was mentioned that Ali has created scrapbooking kit - and content - for 77 Story kits. That is 77 months of 3-4 stories plus many more opportunities for stories each month. That's a lot of stories. And, she centers her stories around a one word prompt, like FIRST (which was the first Story kit created), and Joy, and Morning, and so many more one word story prompts. Those words are the jumping off point for stories that may or may not even use that word in the story.
Then, a couple years ago Ali also began a writing subscription called Just Write. I immediately subscribed and tackled the project with its intention - to just write my stories. I don't add photos (although I have pulled some of those stories to add to a scrapbooking layout), otherwise, I just write my stories using the one word writing prompt that Ali provides with the subscription. She also provides a PDF with story ideas, the story behind the word, and thought-provoking writing tools and techniques, and her own story using the one word prompt. It's a brilliant gift she has.
So, when it came time to decide on a creative endeavor for 100 days, writing my stories using a one word prompt was a challenging yet easy decision. Many of the words are of my own choosing but I am also using words I have received from Ali's Just Write subscription. This is one of those words.
